Chi Ryoku

Chi ryoku is our principle of "strength through knowledge". Chi means power or strength and Ryoku means knowledge. So, chi ryoku is the power or strength that comes from knowledge. Together, they mean intellectual power or intelligence.

Ryoku Chi

When you look back they are reversed and the meaning changes. So, ryoku chi is the knowledge that comes from power. Together, they now mean wisdom or understanding.

"House of Pain" refers to the reality that students of Bushi Kempo Ju Jitsu will be undertaking a long period of training during which time they may be physically hurt or bruised. Not by intention or malice, but simply because of the assumed risks associated with learning the skills and techniques involved.
